An Overview Of Paintball

If you are new to the sport of paintball, then you may want to know a little bit about it. The concept of the game was first inspired by the short story written by Richard Connell and entitled “The Most Dangerous Game”. The game itself was invented by Charles Gaines in 1976 after he had been on a buffalo-hunting safari in Africa. He returned to New Hampshire and along with his friend Bob Gurnsey, came up with the idea of a game that took place in the woods, where players would stalk each other. Gaines and eleven other people played the first game of paintball in 1981 and since then it has evolved into what we know today.

Paintball can be played either individually or in teams, with the aim to shoot capsules at the opposition. It is a very active game, so if you usually play Partypoker or board games at home and are looking for a more active game to play once in a while, then this is the thing for you. The capsules that are shot in paintball are made out of a gelatin shell which contains a water soluble dye inside. The purpose of the dye is to show when someone has been shot, so that everyone knows they are out of the game. This material is non-toxic and biodegradable and the pellets are shot out of what is called a paintball gun.

There are many differing levels at which you can play paintball and it has even been used for military training. However, it is also great for a really fun and active day out for large or small groups of people. The game can be played either outdoors or in an indoor field. Players can hide behind terrain and objects that will afford them cover, and must try not to get hit.
